Roof repair

Roof repair in Riverside

One leak, one fix, a price in writing.

Many roofs we visit need a repair, not a replacement. They need the spot where the water gets in found and fixed, and a clear line on paper for what that costs.

What we repair

  • Leaks and ceiling stains

  • Cracked, slipped or missing tile

  • Missing or lifted shingles

  • Flashing at vents, chimneys, walls and skylights

  • Valleys and ridges

  • Rotted trim at the roof edge

When to call

Signs your roof needs a repair

  • A stain on the ceiling

Brown rings that grow after rain.

  • Daylight in the attic

A gap where a tile, a vent or a flashing has moved.

  • Tile pieces in the yard

A broken tile is a hole in the first layer.

  • Granules in the gutter

Shingles shedding their grit are wearing out.

  • A damp smell after rain

Wet insulation or wood, often near a vent.

  • Light, curling edges

Lifted shingle tabs let wind and water underneath.

Materials

What we repair, and how long each lasts

  • Asphalt shingle

Often 15 to 25 years in Inland Empire sun. We patch, re-seal and replace worn tabs.

  • Clay and concrete tile

The tile can outlast the felt under it. We re-set tile and replace underlayment in the repair area.

  • Flat and low-slope

Often 10 to 20 years on a patio cover or a garage. We re-seal seams and re-coat worn areas.

Two sample written quotes

This is what the paper looks like: every line and a total, each with its own amount for your roof.

  • Sample quote: leak at a vent pipe

A stain on a garage ceiling, traced to a cracked pipe flashing.

    • Leak search and written plan
    • New pipe flashing and sealant
    • Replace four worn shingles
  • Sample quote: cracked tile near a ridge

Six cracked tiles and a loose ridge piece on a tile roof.

    • Leak search and written plan
    • Replace six cracked tiles
    • Re-set the ridge piece

Your quote lists your own lines and your own total.

Questions

About repairs

How long does a repair last?

A repair is only as good as the roof around it. New flashing on a sound roof should last for years; a patch on a worn roof buys time, and we say which one you have.

Why is the stain not under the leak?

Water runs along the underlayment, a rafter or a pipe before it drips. The stain can be several feet from where the water gets in, which is why we look at the whole slope and the attic.

Do I need a permit?

A small repair usually does not. A re-roof often does, and the city or county decides. Your estimate says whether a permit is needed and who pulls it.

What if the damage came from a storm and I want to file a claim?

You decide whether to file, and you deal with your insurer. Your deductible is yours to pay. We inspect, photograph and write an itemized estimate you can share with your insurer, and if you ask we can meet your adjuster. We never promise to pay or waive a deductible, and we don't adjust claims for you.
